There are days when I need to be reminded that breastfeeding is normal , that alot of mothers ( and babies) do it without problems , it just comes naturally. They trust the process.
Today was a great day . I went to see a mother with 6 week old twins. They ( all 3 of them ) were just amazing . Guzzling milk - lots of it , falling off the breast dribbling and drunk , both of them . It made my heart happy and was just what i needed after a week of sore nipples, low supply, oversupply , thrush, blebs and mastitis . There is a God .

Have a read of the above - it just says it all , the sheer joy and utter exhaustion of a newborn. But dont you just love the conversation between the two? For me it defines the overwhelming love between mother and baby . I remember it very clearly - sitting gazing for hours , smelling and nuzzling the baby . Powerful. I remember when my first son was born ( 12 years ago tomorrow !) - I honestly couldn't comprehend that we had made such a stunning baby.
